ISO 28007 (Ships and marine technology- guidelines for PMSC providing PCASP on board ships)

In response to the threat of maritime piracy, ISO established ISO 28007 standard to verify the competence, ability and professionalism of PCASP (Privately Contracted Armed Security Personnel) for PMSC (Private Maritime Security Company) providing PCASP on ships, to maintain ship security and to respond to pirates effectively.
ISO developed and established the ISO 20887 at the request of the IMO. ISO 28007 certification is required for PMSC to be competitive, manage risk and to maintain the competence of PCASP. KR’s certification center is Korea’s only certification body and educational institution for ISO 28007.
