System Certification
ISO 28000 (Security management systems for the supply chain)
As the threat of terror attacks increases internationally, the role of security in international trade becomes more and more important. The IMO (International Maritime Organization) has established and implemented the ISPS code (The International Ship and Port Facility Security Code) as a measure to address this.
Following the terror attacks of 9/11 against USA. International logistics regulations have been applied to enhance security searches of imported cargo through countries affected by terror and for any AEO (Authorized Economic Operator). The searches led by WCO (World Customs Organization) have been established and being implemented.
The security regulations and standards have been established by various international organizations and cover all countries, companies, manufacturers, and operators of port facilitys etc., in fact any organization or business connected to a supply chain, now incurs considerable expense to meet all regulations. Some regulations and standards only cover supply chain security, but the Security Management Systems for the Supply Chain work to reduce security risk across the whole of the distribution industry.
To solve these problems, ISO (International Organization for Standardization) established the ISO 2008 standard in 2007 and KR certification center is the sole certification body and educational institution for ISO2008.
