KR-ERS
and property and catastrophic pollution of marine environment. In an effort to address this problem,
International Maritime Organisation and national Administrations have enacted Rules and Regulations
to govern the management and operation of ships in a safe manner.
As a result, ship owners and ship management companies are increasingly in need of technical support
system which can cover the requirements of International Maritime Organisation and national
Administrations as well as enhance the preparedness and responsiveness to handle serious
emergency situations at sea For that reason, KR ERS system has been established to attain this object.
Outline of ERS
Emergency Response Service(ERS) provides technical information on stability, longitudinal strength and oil outflow by using computer programs.
This technical support is available in the event such as a collision, grounding, fire or explosion, etc.
On the basis of this technical information, ERS system simulates and evaluates a number of possible emergency procedures and then advises on the one which would be most effective.
Operation of ERS Team
KR ERS is operated by 3 technical staffs with expertise in naval architecture, machinery and navigation field and 3 ship safety team members of Classification Service Department.
KR ERS team can be assembled immediately upon an emergency situation and can provide prompt and appropriate countermeasures.

salvage plan
Ship which can be applied to ERS
Base on the application, all ships (KR classed ship only) can be provided to the services.
Benefit to be gained with ERS Registration
A ship registered under KR ERS will be provided with sound solutions for any difficult technical problems during an emergency situation.
ERS team can apply optimum salvage methods to minimize the loss of life and property and environmental pollution by getting the information to carry out rapid and accurate analysis and countermeasure within a few hours in the accident happen.
When a ship is registered with KR, ERS notation will be assigned and recorded on the classification certificate
