KR Remote Survey
CMS (Continuous Machinery Survey)
A Remote Survey can be conducted for the vessel with CMS applied.

Documents to be submitted
- List of maintenance
- Inspection record (a copy of log book, acceptable computer output, etc.)
- Report by chief engineer (including relevant photos)
- Video files for confirmation of operational condition (e.g. external appearance, gauges, etc.) and the chief engineer’s written statement describing operation conditions.
- Visual inspections and safety device testing are to be carried out via live-streaming and calibration records of measuring equipment (used) can be confirmed if deemed necessary(by Surveyor)
3-month extension to propeller shaft and stern tube shaft survey
3-month extension for propeller shaft and stern tube shaft can be carried out by Remote Survey.

Documents to be submitted
- Photos and videos files of all accessible parts of the shafting system
- Photos of the inboard seal
- Previous weardown and clearance recordings
- Test records of lubricating oil analysis (for oil lubricated shafts) or fresh water sample test for closed system fresh water lubricated shafts
- Documentation of a local oil sampling visual examination (for oil lubricated shafts) or fresh water sample test (for closed system fresh water lubricated shafts)
- A written confirmation from the chief engineer that the shafting arrangement is in goodworking condition and no reported repairs by grinding or welding of shaft and/or propeller
- If necessary, access to live-steaming for further confirmation.
Extension to boiler survey
An extension to a boiler survey may be granted by this Society for up to three months in exceptional circumstances in accordance with Sec.801,
Chapter 2, Part 1 of the Rules of this Society.
It is possible to carry out an extension to the boiler survey by Remote Survey, provided that the review result is satisfactory however, objective
evidence may need to be submitted in exceptional circumstances.

Documents to be submitted
- Objective evidence as described in Sec. 801, Chapter 2, Part.1 of the Rules of this Society. (Where ‘exceptional circumstance' means unavailability of repair
facilities; unavailability of essential materials, equipment or spare parts; or delays
incurred by action taken to avoid severe weather conditions). - An external examination of its operating condition - via live-streaming
- An examination and operational test of the boiler safety valve relieving gear- via live-streaming
- (If necessary) Previous records of the last boiler survey (e.g. repair history, maintenance, etc.)
Minor damage survey
A minor damage survey can be conducted by Remote Survey, but the approval of
the flag administration may be required insome cases before it can take place.

Definition of minor damage
- a) General hull damage which does not affect the vessel’s fitness, excluding the areas
to be promptly and thoroughly repaired in accordance with Sec.107, Chapter2, Part 1
of the Rules of this Society. - b) Machinery damage that does not affect the vessel’s fitness
- c) Other cases except aforesaid mentioned (treated on a case-by-case basis)

Documents to be submitted
- Ship master's statement that the ship is in seaworthy condition
- Details of damage reported by ship master or chief engineer including sketch,
photos or video files (it should also be confirmed via live-streaming) - (If necessary) a repair plan and its supporting document
- Any materials as considered necessary by the surveyor

- Where applicable, a report by a shore engineer (manufacturer), with a repair plan,
photos or video files, a written statement by ship master or chief engineer - Documentation and evidence where condition of class is extended(purchase order,
delivery plan, photos or video files for current condition, etc.) - Any materials as considered necessary by the surveyor
- If necessary, access to live-streaming for further confirmation should be available.
Safety Radio(SR) Periodical Survey
After obtaining the flag’s permission, it can be carried out in the presence of service supplier with live-streaming.
Items other than the above
Data shall be sent to KR to conduct the remote survey on a par with physical survey only if permitted by the flag.
