Korean Register is developing guidelines and analyzing corrosion protection system design requirements as part of the reduction of maintenance costs and assurement of corrosion stability for offshore structures. We suggest the design criteria for CP system, reflecting the design requirements and deriving the design life by evaluating comprehensively structures withphysical investigations, and analyzing the corrosive environment and construction cases. We will provide reliable technical support for the detailed design evaluation and maintenance instructions for offshore structures.

Korean Register is performing various researches of ships and offshore materials to develop new rules and to provide technical services. We estimate the corrosion resistance of onshore and offshore facilities and predict the practical operational lifetime. Moreover, we evaluate the mechanical properties of metal and welding material and analyze the VOC compounds which is generated from tankers.
As the arctic region development is receiving attention these days, KR is starting to research on arctic applied materials which can operate on offshore structure and equipment. In addition, KR will always try to produce imperatively necessary rules of new material and welding to assist our customers.
