[Canada] Requirement for re-circula tion of SW cooling system in winter season

Transport Canada (herein after TC) has announced a Port Regulation which is a require
ment for ships transiting west of Les Escounins pilot station and came into effect from
Dec. 10, 2016.
Under this regulation, all vessels affected should be equipped with a re-circulation sea water cooling system. If the vessel is not properly equipped, an Owner/Authorized representative will have to oversee the installation of a re-circulating sea water cooling system. The system is to be approved by Class / RO. After that, the report should be summited to TC prior to arrival accordingly.
