KR signed an MOU for enhancing expertise on naval technologies with Korea Coast Guard on 20th October.
This business agreement is prepared to actively respond to changes in the future marine technologies and to discuss in detail about the cooperation measures to secure stability and make advancement of naval vessels.
Both organizations will cooperate in a wide range of areas under this agreement, including development of eco-friendly naval technology and naval vessel’s design and construction standards, technical support and advice on naval technologies, and trainings on naval vessel’s design, construction and maintenance technologies.
Gwangcheol Chae, Director of Equipment and Technology Bureau of Korea Coast Guard, who attended the signing ceremony said:
“The private-public cooperating system built through this agreement will enhance the expertise and capability of naval technologies. Korea Coast Guard will try to further establish a close cooperation system with the related institutions and secure internal and external reliability and consensus.”
Youngsuk Kim, Head of KR Naval Business Center added:
“KR is providing professional inspection services and technical assistance in the Coast Guard and Naval ship sector based on KR’s high-quality inspection technologies accumulated in the merchant ship sector. We will offer the best services to improve the safety of the Coast Guard’s naval vessels using our experience.”
KR is an international ship inspection agency that provides continuous safety diagnosis and inspection of diving facilities for the Coast Guard’s naval vessels, and trying to ensure the safety of naval vessels and equipment operated by the Korea Coast Guard by conducting verification and dry inspections on 3,000-ton coastguard and naval vessels.
