KR and Korea Naval Logistics Command signed an MOU to exchange technology for quality inspections on 26th October at KR’s headquarters in Busan.
The business agreement will facilitate detailed discussions about the quality inspection systems of military materials, supplied to the quality management department of Naval Logistics Command, and will encourage cooperation for the development of naval equipment inspecting technologies. The Naval Logistics Command’s quality management department is responsible for the military supplies and outsourced equipment and components supplied to the Navy. KR has conducted safety inspections of naval vessels, submarines, diving equipment and equipment of the naval vessels since 2000.
Both organizations made a mutual agreement to cooperate on the development and application of military supplies quality inspection technologies and systems, to exchange quality inspection technology using 4.0 industrial technologies, and to provide training support and to apply advanced quality inspection technologies and offering technical advice on quality inspection of naval equipment.
No-chan Park, The Commander of Naval Logistics Command who attended the signing ceremony said:
“Due to the change in the military support environment, along with the development of 4th industrial technologies, making high quality of military supplies have become very important. We will continuously maintain the naval combat capabilities solid by developing this civil-military cooperation into a good example to respond to technological changes and expanding its range to the aviation and mobility equipment sector.”
Yongsok Lee, the Executive Vice President of KR business division who hosted the ceremony added:
“I hope this agreement will improve the mutual understanding of the naval quality inspection and regulations to be applied. KR will continuously support technological collaboration and personal exchanges to improve the naval vessels’ stability.”
Following the signing ceremony, the KR and the Naval Logistics Command held a "Practical Discussion on the Exchange and Development of Quality Inspection Technology" to share the know-how and work towards win-win development methods. The manager or quality management department of Naval Logistics Command presented the Navy’s overall quality management system, followed by KR introducing the status of safety inspections of operating naval ships and inspection technologies that can be applied to the Navy.
