The plan approval center held a technical seminar about LNG fuel propulsion for the executives and employees of Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering.
1. Date: September 29th, 2021.
2. Participants: a total of 30 executives and employees including the CEO of Daesun
Shipbuilding & Engineering, Lee Soo-geun, the head and members of the KR plan approval
center, the general manager of KR liquid cargo ship team and the general manager of KR’s
Busan branch office.
3. Contents of technical seminar
1) Agreements and structural design related to LNG fuel propulsion
(Park Hyo-jae, senior surveyor of liquid cargo ship team)
2) Design of LNG Fuel Gas Supply System
(OH Euncheol, senior surveyor of environment & piping team)
3) Issues on LNG Fuelled Ship (Elec. Part)
(Principal surveyor Park Sung-hwan, Senior surveyor Kim Jae-chul
/ Electric and Automation Team)
4) Additional questions and answers.
Prior to the construction of the LNG fueled fishing training ship (DSSE644), which is scheduled to be built by Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering, the seminar focused on LNG fuel technology know-how that KR has already experienced and accumulated in a number of newbuilding projects.
The seminar was attended by the CEO of Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering, Lee Soo-geun and all the executives and employees of the design division, with many of questions and heated technical discussions. CEO Lee Soo-geun expressed his gratitude saying the seminar would be of great help to the LNG fueled vessel project.
After the seminar, a further meeting was held with the executives of Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering to discuss joint technological cooperation between Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering and KR in the future.
