Korea’s maritime cluster networking group, MacNet, and the Republic of Korea Navy announced on 10 August that they have created a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for exchange and cooperation.
Under this MoU, MacNet and the Navy will participate in policy discovery and will develop business proposals through exchanges between industries, schools, institutes, and government departments related to the marine industry. All of the parties will actively cooperate on joint policy research and technology R&D based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
"This MoU will serve as an opportunity to expand the scope of activities and mutual development through academic technology cooperation between civilian and military entities. The two organizations will take the lead in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and together will focus on the development of eco-friendly and smart shipping ports,” said Lee Hyung Chul, the chairman of MacNet.
