From January to July, KR China Plan Approval Center has completed a CSR rule conformance verification and optimization design review for the 114K DWT Class LR2 Tanker design developed by the Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI), a main shipyard of China's largest state-owned shipyard group CSSC. On 20 July, an AIP certificate was awarded.

The AIP project is the first joint research conducted with GSI, which is of great significance in view of KR’s strategy to expand within the Chinese market.

As part of the AIP process, the shipyard applied the latest CSR rules and optimized the design using KR's SeaTrust-HullScan software and consequently MARIC, a main design company of CSSC group, has agreed to enter into a supply contract for this software due to its excellence and value of the resource.

At the request of the GSI shipyard, KR has also agreed to sign a JDP to collaborate on the conformity verification of the latest CSR rules for the 158K DWT SUEZMAX Tanker which is being designed by the shipyard. 

Mr. Kang Youping Joori, Executive Vice Director of GSI, expressed his appreciation for KR’s technical services and said he was looking forward to collaborating on the new shipbuilding project with KR. The KR China Plan Approval Center will continue to strengthen its technical cooperation with GSI shipyard in order to expand its Chinese market in the future.
