In regard to PSC Exams in MSIB No.09-20, it was stated that The Coast Guard will not issue deficiencies or detain vessels for expired certificates, documents or mariner credentials until October 1, 2020.
Concerning mis-understanding as not be additional explanation on it, please be informed that the expired certificates, documents or mairner credentials should be properly dealt with according to Administration Instruction in advance to avoid unexpected PSC deficiency or detention.

We are informed that the detentions of vessels have been recently increasingly occured as SMS failure in Newcatle port, NSW of Australia.
We found that PSC inspections were carried out on even weekend under COVID-19 situation. We would like to draw your keen attention for this information, and strictly prepare PSC inspection and thoroughly secure your SMS implementation.
