With the entering into force of BWM Convention on 8 September 2017, the subject ships are required to comply with D-2 standard in accordance with implementation schedules, not later than 8 September 2024.
In this regard, this Society, in addition to BWTS installation work for newbuilding ships, has been carrying out approval of drawings and surveys for the retrofitting of BWTS on board about 250 existing ships. In carrying out such work, we have received and answered a number of inquiries from the shipowners, shipyards, designer and manufacturers. Among these, we have sorted the important and frequently asked questions and answers and are issuing them as Technical Information that we hope will be of assistance to you in carrying out the relevant work.
