[Future Technology Research Team] Seminar on Ship Implementation Plans for domestic shipping company
KR’s Future Technology Research Team has developed Greengas Emission Authentic Reporting System known as GEARs. The system is able to drafta Ship Implementation Plan (SIP) which is required to prepare for compliance to the regulation of sulphur fuel oil. To achieve this, KR distributed samples and risk assessment tables that facilitate SIP preparation to domestic and foreign shipping companies and also held a seminar for major shipping companies.
[Future Technology Research Team] Seminar on KR GEARs for domestic shipping company
On 14 August, KR’s Future Technology Research Team held a seminar on GEARs for shipping companies. The seminar covered:
- Instruction on preparation of data collection plans (EU MRV & IMO DCS)
- Instruction on the Ship Implementation Plan (SIP)
[Busan Offce] Meeting with small and mid-sized shipping companies
On 22 August, KR’s Busan Office held a technical meeting for small to mid-sized shipping companies which operate oil, chemical and LPG tankers. The seminar covered:
- Quality of fuel oil, including the regulations for 0.5% sulphur limit (effective 1 January 2020)
- Cause and solution to cracks on the lower section of a corrugated bulkhead in the freight tank of an oil/chemical vessel
[Geoje Office] Seminar and training for Hyundai Merchant Marine and shipbuilding company
KR’s Geoje Office held a technical seminar on 4 September for HMM’s superintendents and QM at SHI related to 23,000 TEU project. In the course of the seminar, topics related to SOx scrubbers and CDG were discussed.
