[5] USCG Marine Safety Lessons Learned 01-19
Please be advised that the USCG has issued the Marine Safety Lessons Learned (01-19) - “Bilge Monitors”. Your precautionary measures are requested accordingly.
[6] Ship inspection database and Inspection rate in AMSA
AMSA maintains the Shipsys Database which helps to calculate the risk factor of an individual ship. This lets AMSA identify and then target high risk ships for inspection.
The database information includes the general particulars of a ship, its PSC inspection history, including information from the Indian MoU and Tokyo MoU.
The Shipsys Database then uses this data to calculate the probability of a ship being detained, expressing the result as a percentage which becomes the risk factor. It is this risk factor that allows AMSA to target high risk ships and inspect them as required.
The selection of a ship for inspection depends upon a number of factors, including ;
- environmental risk
- ship complaints
- our risk-based ship inspection targeting scheme
Please refer to the attachment which provides more information on the targeting system and priorities for inspection based on a calculated risk factor.
[7] PSC Trends_2nd quarter 2019
Please be informed that the PSC Trends in the 2nd quarter of 2019 have been released. Please take the necessary preventive measures in reference to the report, to avoid PSC detentions and/or deficiencies.
