On 21 March, KR signed MoU with LIG Nex1 Ltd, Korea’s leading aerospace and defence company, agreeing to work together to jointly develop autonomous naval technologies.
Under this MoU, both companies will
1) exchange technological knowhow and information
2) provide mutual support for training and education on autonomous naval technologies
3) share mutual cooperation on certification and R&D on autonomous naval technologies
and systems
4) share mutual cooperation on the application of cyber security technologies and its
certification
Mr.Jeong kie Lee, Chairman and CEO of KR, said that through this MoU, the mutual cooperation between KR and LIG Nex1 would be significantly enhanced. Adding that KR is ready to contribute to the development of future naval autonomous technologies, using its technical expertise and specialist experience accumulated over more than 60 years of experience working with commercial vessels.
