KR has entered into an agreement with Oldendorff Carriers and GSR Services to provide its fleet with development and certification of Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) services in time to meet EU deadlines.
From the end of 2020, the EU-Ship Recycling Regulation requires all EU-visiting or EU-flagged ships to have a certified IHM on board. With 30,000 to 40,000 ships being affected, IHM expert resources are expected to become scarce in the near future.
Michael Suhr, Technical and Commercial Director of Korean Register North Europe says: “KR is pleased to offer its customers this technical solution which has been developed at the best competitive price for the market. The experience and expertise of our partners Nautilus Log and GSR Services in this field, combined with KR’s established expert global network will allow us to offer excellent business synergies to the fleet of our client Oldendorff Carriers.”
