KR’s ICT Solution team has been awarded ISO/IEC 27001 certification for its KR SCF (Ship Construction File Archive) by National Quality Assurance (NQA).
KR established its SCF Archive Center to protect and safeguard Korean shipbuilders design know-how and intellectual property. The establishment, development and operation of the SCF Archive Center by KR, was agreed at the 73rd technology committee meeting of the Korean Shipbuilders’ Association in 2013.
The KR SCF Archive Center was established in 2015 and has been operational ever since. KR’s SCF Archive Center contains all of the necessary information relating to a ships construction and holds it safely and securely throughout the lifetime of the ship.
The benefits to Korean shipbuilders of using the KR SCF Archive Center are many, including saving time and reducing costs. The Center offers security, backup, redundancy, maintenance, acquisition and installation of S/W (OS, DB) through the adoption of specialized Internet Data Center (IDC) services. Moreover, the Center supports long-term operability because it saves on initial setup costs for a physical server and it provides an IDC service which guarantees quick and flexible changes to system configuration/specs.
