The 73rd session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee was held at IMO HQ from 22 to 26 October 2018.  The decisions made by MEPC 73 have already been published in the MEPC 73 – News Flash, which contained information on the main and summarized outputs from the Committee. We are now releasing MEPC 73 – News Final, which contains the overall outcomes of the session and the relevant measures that require action.

Herewith, we would like to shipowners and operators to make use of the reference data on each of the relevant subjects. In particular, the amendments to the MARPOL Convention and related mandatory instruments will become effective on 1 March 2020, and any guidelines adopted as a ‘Resolution’ will become effective immediately.
