[Notification of PSC detention (TAURANGA, NEW ZEALAND]
Please be informed of the following notification to avoid similar PSC detentions.

o Causes of Detention
- SMS related detention for the following reasons:
. PPE (fall arrester and lifejacket) not worn when preparing a pilot ladder
. Working at height permit not completed for pilot ladder rigging operation
. Crew supervisor not provided with permit to work or working aloft training

o Causes of Detention
- Rescue boat launching davit not working (power failure).
- Gyro compass on bridge out of order (approx.19 degrees error).
- Approaching chart to Gwangyang not up-to-date.
- Poor SMS implementation.
[AMSA Proper stowage of cargo containers]
1. Please note that the marine notice by AMSA, Australia was released as attached to encourage owners and/or masters to properly stow cargo containers in light of recent incidents.
2. The requirements listed below will be checked by AMSA PSCO, so you are kindly requested to conform where applicable.
- the weight distribution and stack weights are in compliance with the approved cargo stowage arrangements; or
- the securing arrangements are in accordance with the approved Cargo Securing Manual; or
- the Cargo Securing Manual adequately covers the cargo being carried.
