KR held the 15th KR Europe Committee (KREC) in London on 2 July 2017.
The KREC members are influential figures from across the European maritime industry, with representatives from BIMCO (Baltic and International Maritime Council), OCIMF (Oil Companies International Marine Forum), INTERTANKO, INTERCARGO and renowned global maritime companies attending the meeting.
KR discussed the recent trends seen in the Korean maritime industry, the latest developments relating to the IMO’s global sulphur cap and the effects of EEDI on the design of tanker and bulk carriers. There was also a presentation outlining the current status of the LNG fueled bulk carrier with LNG bunker tanks which is being built using POSCO’s high manganese steel.
KR continues to look to provide better services to its global clientele by strengthening its world-wide industry network through its international committees.
