On 16 April, KR met representatives from the Greek maritime industry as a member of a Korean maritime industry delegation. The delegation included senior members from KR, DSME, Korea P&I and KoreanRe, who all took part in a co-hosted seminar, held with the Marshall Islands Ship Registry in Athens, Greece.
One hundred and fifty guests from across the Greek maritime industry attended the seminar including Mr Ahn Youngjip, the Korean Ambassador to Greece, VIP’s from the Tsakos Group and senior managers from various equipment companies.
During the seminar, KR discussed current industry issues, the outlook for the implementation of the global sulphur cap 2020 and showcased the new Kamsarmax bulk carrier design that is being co-developed with Hyundai-Mipo shipyard.
In addition to KR’s presentation, the other Korean maritime industry organizations introduced their services and businesses including Korea P&I and KoreanRe Co. which is Korea’s biggest reinsurance company. DSME also discussed its current boil-off gas reliquefaction technology.
