On 18 April, KR held a technical seminar in Hamburg, Germany. The seminar coincided with the relocation of KR’s Hamburg branch office to its new location in Hafencity, Hamburg.
Fifty guests from the German maritime industry took part in the seminar, which included presentations on ‘Latest news on the global sulphur cap’, ‘The status of the Korean shipbuilding industry’ and ‘New bulk carrier design’ delivered by KR’s specialist experts.
The event also included a lecture from Mr. Chrisof Schwaner, Director, Communications & Digitalisation, German Shipowners Association, on ‘10 key points for digital transportation in shipping’ which offered valuable insight into the current digital transformation taking place across the shipping industry.
KR opened its first German office in Hamburg in 1997. Since then, KR has gradually expanded its presence in the Germany maritime industry. The size of the German-owned fleet of vessels classed by KR has now grown to 2m GT, and new office opened in Frankfurt last year.
