KR has signed an MOU with the Republic of Korea (ROK) Naval Force Analysis, Test and Evaluation Group on 30 March, with both sides agreeing to cooperate and work together on the design and construction of naval battle ships.
The two parties have agreed to exchange information and technical data on their specialized naval and commercial vessels, to promote R&D on core technologies for naval vessels and on dual-use technologies for both commercial and naval vessels. They will also work together to improve naval vessel technology standards.
At the signing ceremony, Hyungchul Lee, executive vice president of KR said, “Through this MOU, we expect to share practical and regular technological cooperation between both organizations. Based on our expertise accumulated in the commercial vessel sector, KR will do its best to contribute to the improvement of the combat performance of the Korean Navy. “
