KR has delivered a range of bespoke client seminars focusing on different vessel types; tailored and relevant to each client.
The seminars showcased a range of new innovations introduced by the class society, helping to differentiate KR from its competitors by adding value to its clients’ businesses.
[Convention & Legislation Service Team] holds convention seminar for shipping companies in Seoul and Busan
KR held a convention seminar for shipping companies on 14 and 15 September 2017. With attendees of more than 70 representatives from 30 companies, the seminar covered the result and major changes of MSC 97 & 98, MEPC 70 & 71.
KR will endeavour to hold the seminar regularly for clients to help them access and understand the details of the convention more easily.
[Statutory System Certification Team] hosts clients meeting for QA depts. of shipping companies
KR held a “Technical seminar to strengthen safety management for Bulk Carrier” for technical superintendents, safety quality superintendents, safety management officers and directors who are responsible for safety management. The seminar aimed to improve the quality of safety management and hull inspection technology of bulk carriers.
The Q&A was attended by 40 representatives from a variety of shipping companies and focused on the topic of “analysis of the structure and strength of bulk carriers” in order to improve self-safety management. The meeting also discussed the topic of “self-checklists for bulk carriers”
KR endeavours to continually enhance customer satisfaction by providing professional technical information to promote safety management for shipping companies in order to prevent marine accidents.
[Technical Support Team] holds technical seminar on VLOC new building
In preparation of major VLOC newbuilding orders expected in Chinese shipyards, KR provided a seminar titled “KR's Technical Capacity for VLOC Hull Design with Vale Recommendations” at four Chinese shipyards including SDARI, New Yangzi Shipbuilding, SWS Shipbilding, Dalian Shipyard, and Beihai Shipyard.
Attendees shared questions and concerns regarding design, and showed interest in Vale recommendations such as hull fatigue strength analysis in consideration of whipping and springing in addition to special precautions when designing VLOC’s.
