- Discussing the outlook of Industry 4.0 and green business in the shipping and shipbuilding sector -

Korean Register (KR) will jointly hold the KORMARINE Conference 2017 with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and Korea Marine Equipment Association (KOMEA) from 25 to 27 October 2017.

The KORMARINE Conference, which returns in its 4^th edition this year, will discuss the practical alternatives for the Korean shipbuilding industry and will aim to chart a new path towards prosperity through insights from global leaders and scholars in “Industry 4.0 and Green Business Creation”. 

This year the conference welcomes a number of high profile speakers. Day one, Mr. Barrie Stevens, Head of the OECD’s International Futures Program, will discuss his work on the ability of the Korean shipping industry to lead the ‘Ocean Economy Era’. Day two, Mr. Tony Mitchell, Managing Director of KABC-Korea Associates Business Consultancy, will discuss solutions to overcome the difficulties facing Korea through examining the current global economy.

Maran Gas Maritime which boasts absolute buying power in the international ship market and the world’s largest LNG carrier shipping company will be in attendance, in addition to India’s Goa Shipyard Ltd and Vietnam’s National Shipping Line, offering  attendees valuable networking opportunities.

Mr. Starvros Hatzigrigoris, CEO of Maran Gas Maritime will contribute to the conference by speaking on the subject of ‘Evaluation of LNGCs Propulsion Options’(26 October).

The KORMARINE conference provides a useful forum to discuss the future of shipping and the shipbuilding industry. KR and industry leaders will also  offer valuable information on the development of ship cyber security technology and e-navigation in the face of the 4^th industrial revolution.
