The Maritime Safety Committee’s (MSC) 98th session was held at IMO Headquarters from 7-11 June 2017. This newsfinal from the meeting has been prepared to help relevant stakeholders (ship owners, ship builders, equipment manufacturers, administrations and class surveyors) complete the follow-up actions.
The amendments to SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) conventions and related codes adopted at this MSC 98 will enter into force on 1 January 2020, in accordance with the four-year cycle of entry into force of amendments to the SOLAS Convention and related mandatory instruments, except IMSBC Code.
