The seminars showcased a range of new innovations introduced by the class society, helping to differentiate KR from its competitors by adding value to its clients’ businesses.

                                       

■ Hull Rule Development Team & Machinery Rule Development Team 

Welder Skills Qualification Test Seminar

On 24 July 2017, KR held a seminar about Welder Skills Qualification Test (IACS UR W32, NEW) for the quality department personnel of members of the Korea Offshore and Shipbuilding Association (KOSHIPA).

  

IACS UR W32 has been recently established, and shipyards will need to look into measures to be in accordance with the application date, once the relevant resolution is reflected to each classification society’s rules. As a result KR held a briefing on this subject at the request of KOSHIPA.

 

The seminar delivered a good opportunity to strengthen ties with major shipyards. KR will endeavor to develop rules and resolutions related to material/welding through continued its continued industry liaison.  

 

■ KR Mokpo Office holds rule seminar for client company

 

KR’s Mopo Office has hosted a rules seminar for the design team of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.

 

KR provided a briefing and Q&A session on SOx Scrubber and EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) instalment, HP/LP SCR or M/E – presenting the subjects of  “KR Guidance for SOx scrubber and  readiness”, as well as “Fuel Oil Treatment System”.

■ Hull Rule Development Team & Machinery Rule Development Team  

KR rule seminar for client company

 

KR’s Hull Rule Development Team & Machinery Rule Development Team held a rules seminar for major shipyards and shipping companies to promote KR rules and enhance customers’ satisfaction.

  

The seminar was attended by visiting clients and provided briefings on newly developed rules and amendments. With Q & A sessions, the clients had a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of KR’s rules.

  

KR will actively develop new technical rules and endeavor to provide regular briefing services to industry professionals.
