KR held the 14th KR Europe Committee (KREC) in London on 10 July 2017.
The KREC members are influential figures in the European maritime industry, with representatives from ICS (International Chamber of Shipping), BIMCO (Baltic and International Maritime Council), OCIMF (Oil Companies International Marine Forum), Intertanko, Intercargo, Songa Shipmanagement, Dao Shipping, Zodiac Maritime, Andros Maritime, and Bernard Shulte attending the meeting.
KR discussed the recent trends seen in the Korean maritime industry, as well as IACS activities with the members, and presented the latest information on KR’s BWMS (Ballast Water Management Systems) technology and Eco-ship technology. KR also focused on the subject of digitalization in the maritime industry, sharing information on various projects created in collaboration with shipyards, the Korean government and academic circles – including plans based on 3D model technology.
Members exchanged insights and valuable information on issues of interest, preparations of the industry and shipping companies – with a presentation on ‘Cyber Security’ by BIMCO and ‘Shipping 4.0’ by Bernhard Schulte.
KR continues to look to provide better services to its global clientele by strengthening its global industry network through its international committees.
