When loading cargoes into a container carrier, total weight and stack arrangement for the container must be in accordance with the guidelines of the classification society, adhering to specified permissible loads for securing devices and containers.
The classification society develops guidelines that consider the sea environment conditions of defined shipping routes and KR has announced the revision of their guidelines (annex 7-2) for container securing devices.
SeaTrust-LS, the evaluation software for container securing strength, was first developed in 2013 and updated on an annual basis, effectively reviewing the strength of the container securing devices. SeaTrust-LS allows intuitive input, using the
container simplification model for user's convenience. It distributes the developed software to domestic and overseas related companies and leads to improved response.
Key features of SeaTrust-LS are as follows:
- Applying ship motion combination factor and route specific reduction factor
- Various securing types and methods
- 3D graphic for container loading
- Result for various loading condition
- Supporting guide for optimum stack arrangement
- Providing Software Development Kit (SeaTrust-LS SDK)
* SeaTrust-LS SDK(Software Development Kit)
In recent years, domestic and overseas classification societies have carried out rule revisions related to container securing, reflecting the updated rules in the software. Due to these revisions, third-party software developers and in-house software developers
alike have required new versions with revised guidelines.
However, it is very difficult to develop new versions, as it is a time consuming process that takes many man-hours and expertise to reflect the latest rules. It is also very
difficult to check the safety of container securing, so if the software is not ready, there is often a big disruption to container operations.
Thus, Software Development Kits (SDK) are required to save time and money in software development.
That is why we have developed SeaTrust-LS SDK in 2017. Using primary beta-testing by major shipping companies and securing software companies, we have received good reviews. To support developers' various development environments and provide portability and scalability, Microsoft Visual Studio template files in Unmanaged (C++ with MFC) and Managed (C#) environments have been provided.
SeaTrust-LS SDK can be downloaded directly from the KR Web-Site and requires a license file to be provided alongside a simple agreement procedure for free-use.
