A flag instruction (Marine Operations Note 02/2017) has been published for all Liberian flagged ships – regarding the implementation of the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediment, 2004.

In accordance with this instruction, ship owners and operators of all Liberian flagged ships - except for those where the IBWM Certificate and BWMP has already been issued and approved by the classification society - should apply for the approval of their Ballast Water Management Plans (BWMP) and for the issuance of a IBWM (International Ballast Water Management) Certificate, to the Liberian Administration directly, as of April 22, 2017.

Ship owners and operators of Liberian flagged ships are kindly invited to pay attention to this notice, so that the BWMP and IBWM Certificate can be properly approved and issued by the Liberian Administration in a timely manner.
