In an effort to reduce PSC detentions, the Korean Register (KR) is developing and maintaining beneficial and favorable relationships with port authorities. 

During the KR Taipei Branch Office’s recent visit to the Maritime and Port Bureau (MOTC) of Taiwan, it has been mutually agreed that a KR-classed ship would not be detained in KEELUNG and TAIPEI under the condition of its immediate reporting to the port authority with detailed corrective action plans and/or repair plans where any deficiencies, which are likely to cause PSC matters onboard the ship, are identified.
